Genuine OEM VAG part. This is the new, stronger OEM diverter valve. If you own any Volkswagen or Audi 1.8T built before 2002, you should upgrade your factory bypass (diverter) valve to the latest version offered by Volkswagen and Audi. This bypass (diverter) valve, known as the '710N' valve, has a 14.4 pound spring inside versus the 8.8 lb spring found in the earlier Golf/Jetta/Beetle models and in all years of the Audi A4 and VW Passat.
The 1.8T bypass (diverter) valve is responsible for recirculating the pressurized intake air when the throttle plate is closed to prevent turbo compressor stall. The 710N bypass valve will help reduce any surging you may encounter after upgrading your car with a chip, intake, exhaust, or other horsepower parts.
Includes just one (1) valve. Audi 2.7T motors will need two (2) valves.
NOTE: To determine if your vehicle is equipped with the 710N bypass valve, locate the bypass valve and look for Bosch part number (0 280 142 114) on the outside of the valve. If your bypass valve has this number stamped on it, you already have the 710N version.
